Walking home

A few days ago, I was thinking about how when I was a child, I used to walk to school and back, and my family had no clue whether I had reached safely or not. They would only know once I’m back home from school in the evening, that yes, she’s safe. And I was a child!

Today, when I take a cab from work to home, I send my parents a tracking link, and they know exactly where I am. And I’m an adult.

And I don’t blame my parents. It’s the times that have changed. Life was much simpler back then, people were nicer, and could be trusted. Today, you can’t even trust people who are close to you. That’s how much technology has changed the world.

While it has done a lot of good, it has somewhat taken away the simplicity of life. Now we have to Snapchat everything, or take Instagram worthy pictures. Sigh.

I guess that’s why my best friend forced me to put away my phone during Diwali. 🙂

And on that note, Happy Diwali folks! Hope this festive season was filled with all the happiness and joy you deserve, and the coming year is filled with all the good luck 🙂

This week, I am thankful for:

  1. My family
  2. My aunt, for feeding me my favourite sweets
  3. My best friend, for having me over for Diwali
  4. And this long, long weekend!

What are you thankful for? 🙂
