Bangalore is known for its pub culture, and this time, the city celebrated World Whiskey Day in collaboration with Diageo, having #LoveScotch trending, with the help of some amazing whiskey, a beautiful view from Shangri-La‘s 18th floor, and the presence of scotch lovers – Dino Morea, Randeep Hooda, Mandira Bedi and Coco Rocha. The launch party was followed by the four scotch lovers pub hopping in Bangalore, starting with Skyye Bar and ending in Sanchos, both located in UB City.

While scotch is often viewed as a “man’s drink”, here’s what the four bar hoppers had to say about how they like their scotch, when they like to have it and with what:
“Scotch is not just a man’s drink, I think a woman can drink it as well. This stereotype is not justified really. A glass of scotch with some ginger ale is one of my top two cocktail combinations” – Coco Rocha, Model, Canada
“I don’t generally pair my glass of scotch with food. It’s either before or after a meal; don’t really need to pair it with something. I generally like to share a glass of scotch with my father. There’s always an occasion to have scotch – it’s a great celebratory drink!” – Mandira Bedi, Actor, Fashion Designer, Model
“It’s not necessary to have scotch with food, but if I do, it’s usually peanuts or something light. It’s the perfect drink to have at the end of a tiring day.” – Randeep Hooda, Actor
“I am a scotch/whiskey man. I don’t generally pair it with food, but like to have it on its own. I have always been a fan of the Black & White whisky. I’m excited to be back in Bangalore, where I grew up, and have some good whiskey on this pub hop.” – Dino Morea, Actor
There are many whiskey variations, but the most popular ones discussed at the #LoveScotch event were whiskey and ginger ale, and whiskey, lime, mint and ginger ale. Of course, there were a large group of people who went for the classic whiskey on the rocks.
How do you enjoy your whiskey? Do let me know in the comments section.

I am a scotch/whiskey person myself. Old Fashioned and Manhattan are my go to drinks, if not then the classic on the rocks.
Hope you had a glass of your preference on World Whiskey Day 🙂
Seems like I was there at the event. The report was very vivid and candid, hope to see some more from you!
Thank you! 🙂
