EXPLORING HOME

Swansea can now be called home. A third home – the first being Zambia and the second, India. I’ve grown fond of the gloomy weathered town. Yeah it can make one cantankerous but you learn to love it. On the other hand, this year has been quite the turn of events with a lot of sunshine, clear skies and believe it or not, heat.

The Saturday started off with the perfect brunch – blueberry pancakes and a cappuccino – with the perfect company – Devora and Violet 🙂

The weather was the usual rainy Swansea, but we still enjoyed the day. Loitering around town, walking in and out of stores and spending an endless amount of time in Waterstones. And why not? Because “in books we trust.” 🙂

The rest of the day resulted in spending the day at Devora’s, watching an interesting documentary called “The Jinx” about Robert Durst while munching on popcorn.

Sunday was quite the sunny day – unexpected, but glad. We took advantage of the weather and headed to the beach to meet a few classmates. The warm sunshine spread all over our exposed hands and legs really did tempt a snooze or two on the sand. I tried resisting it but ended up laying still with my eyes closed for about five minutes. It was bliss.

Of course the day was not complete without a drink or two, mine being Shmoo’s Chocolate Milkshake. Perfect cooling agent for a hot summer’s day 🙂

Sometimes all you need is a relaxing, torpid day home…and with a beach like Swansea’s, there’s no excuse to say no to that! 🙂
