The Summer 2014 Series of this blog is coming to an end. Sigh. It was a good summer, with ups and downs, rain and sunshine, food and drinks, friends and family…and pure love and joy. Thank you to every single person, all the restaurants, nature, books, television shows and every other possible thing on earth that made the past 3 months epic as ever!
My summer consisted of many…erm…categories?
BANGALORE, INDIA
For the first part of my summer, I was in India for about a month. I came down to reunite with my family and eat my mommy’s yummy food. Of course, this didn’t stop me from eating the delicious food of Little Italy, drinking Infinitea‘s lovely tea, Hole in the Wall‘s amazing ginger-lime juice and having a few catch up sessions at Fennys.
Aside from this, I managed a small trip to Shirdi with the family, during which I got to experience the monotony of an almost 24 hour journey on a train. It was exciting when it started. By the end of it, I hated trains. Except the one that goes to Hogwarts.
SWANSEA, WALES
It was time to leave Bangalore and head to an eventful month in Swansea. I was heading back to the small, but beautiful Welsh city in order to do the CELTA course. It was an intense month of 9am to 6pm classes, assignments almost everyday, teaching practice, lesson plans…and finally, squeezing in some time to spend with friends and family. Even weekends didn’t feel like weekends!
But nothing stopped us from staying positive. We made a good group of friends, had our Starbucks coffees everyday to keep us alert and going and enjoyed the Swansea sunshine.

In between all this, I also graduated! My sister came down and it was a lovely family reunion. We travelled to various places such as Bath City, London, Stonehenge and the various bays around Swansea.

BANGALORE, INDIA
Now, I’m back in Bangalore, relaxing after the one month of intense work. What keeps me going is the coffee, tea, the weather, some good books to read, a few good TV shows and movies, catching up with friends…and the cute puppies that were born right outside our house! Except they become a nuisance at night.
That was a summary of my summer. For more details, check out my Summer Series. You can also follow me on Twitter and Instagram on @subranu for regular travel updates.
I’ll be heading back to Swansea to pursue my Masters degree, during which I hope there will be more travel shenanigans to write about! Till then, it’s over with the Summer 2014 series, and starting with the Autumn/Winter.
In the words of Fun For Louis, enjoy life, live the adventure.
🙂
